Global Net Desk: Indian tourist visa will be available within two
days of application from the current month in addition to the existing
medical visa.
Assistant Indian High Commissioner (HC) in Rajshahi Manoj Kumar revealed this
while visiting the Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) here yesterday.
He said Indian medical visas have been made easy. The visa-seekers of 16
districts in Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions side by side with Kushtia,
Chuadanga and Meherpur districts under jurisdiction of the IVAC are now
getting the medical visa within three days of application.
As a result, they are taking treatment after going to India within the
shortest possible time.
Mr Manoj Kumar also said all sorts of necessary measures have been taken for
issuing visas from the IVAC quickly. Besides, they remained highest alert to
stop misuse of visas.
There is no scope of issuing visas to those who are permanent residents
beyond the jurisdiction of the centre, he added.
Around 1,500 applications are being submitted for visas in different
categories in the centre on an average every day.
