Global Net Report : Abu Osman Chowdhury, a sector commander during the Liberation War of 1971, passed away while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Combined Military Hospital (CMH) this morning. He was 85.
Haroon Habib, secretary general of the Sector Commanders’ Forum (SCF), confirmed it.
Personal Assistant Abul Bashar said, Abu Osman was suffering from old age ailments for the last few months. He tested positive for Covid-19 and was admitted to CMH on Sunday.
He is survived by two daughters, grandchildren and a host of relatives.
Abu Osman, who served as the commander of sector-8 during the Liberation War, was the vice-chairman of SCF.
