DHAKA, March 2, 2025 (BSS) – The National Voters’ Day was celebrated in a befitting manner across the country with the theme ‘Tomar Amar Bangladeshe, Vote Dibo Mile Mishe’.

Marking the day, the Election Commission (EC) chalked out different programmes including a discussion at its office.

The Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin inaugurated the programme today in front of the Nirbachan Bhaban.

A colourful rally was brought out from the Nirbachan Bhaban marking the beginning of the day’s programmes. Besides, different programmes were held at divisional, district and upazila levels.

In Satkhira, the day was celebrated in a befitting manner in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office at 10.30 am organized by the district Election Office.

Rally and discussion meeting were also held on the occasion. Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mostaq Ahmed presided over the discussion meeting.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Bishnupad Pal, Additional Superintendent of Police Imran Hossain, District Election Officer Md. Atiqul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Ripon Biswas, District BNP Member Secretary Abu Zahid Dablu, District Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer Sheikh Nurul Huda, District Information Officer Md. Jaharul Islam, Satkhira Sadar Upazila Election Officer Nadiruzzaman, Satkhira Anti-Discrimination Student Movement Convener Arafat Hossain, Chief Organizer Mohini Tabassum, and others were present.

In Sherpur, National Voters Day celebrated with various programmes.

On the occasion, a colorful rally was organized by the district administration and the district election office from the district collectorate premises at 12 noon today.

Later, Deputy Commissioner Tarafdar Mahmudur Rahman addressed the discussion meeting organized at Rajnigandha, the conference room of the district administration, as the chief guest.

Additional District Election Officer Mohammad Saiful Islam moderated the program. The discussion meeting, chaired by District Election Officer Muhammad Anwarul Haque, was also addressed by Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abdullah Al Mahmud Bhuiyan, Press Club President Kakon Reza, Jamaat leader Zakaria Md. Abdul Baten, BNP leader Abdul Awal Chowdhury, District Anti-Discrimination Students’ Movement President Mamunur Rahman, among others.

In Lakshmipur, rally and discussion meeting were held marking the day.

The rally started in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office around 11 am and ended at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.

Deputy Commissioner Rajib Kumar Sarkar, Additional Superintendent of Police Hasan Mostafa Swapan, Additional Deputy Commissioner JP Dewan, District Election Officer Md. Abdur Rashid and Sadar Upazila Election Officer Atiquzzaman. Students from various educational institutions also participated in the rally.

Besides, National Voters’ Day was celebrated in Tangail Magura, Chattogram, Meherpur, Naogaon, Sunamganj, Narail, Chuadanga, Rangamati, Rajbari, Bagerhat, Gazipur, Jhalokhati, Bandarban and Cumilla districts in a befitting manner.
