Global Net Report: The ship carrying the first metro train set of Bangladesh, SPM Bangkok, arrived at Mongla seaport at 4.18 pm on March 31, 2021. It may be mentioned that the ship carrying the metro train set started its journey from Kobe port of Japan to Mongla seaport of Bangladesh on 04 March 2021 at 03.00 pm Bangladesh time. The first two coaches of the six passenger coaches of the metro train set will be shifted from the main ship SPM Bangkok to the barge bringing them to Uttara today. The transfer of the remaining 4 coaches to the barge is expected to be completed on April 1, 2021. The barge carrying the first metro train set after completion of duty and VAT related activities at Mongla seaport is likely to start its journey on 11 April 2021 for the newly constructed jetty adjacent to Dhaka’s Turag river depot. The barge carrying Bangladesh’s first metro train set is expected to reach Uttarastha depot on April 23, 2021 on the new jetty route adjacent to Mongla-Jhalokati-Barisal-Chandpur-Munshiganj-Sadarghat-Diabari depot. It is to be noted that the ship carrying the second metro train set is expected to start its journey from Kobe port of Japan to Mongla seaport of Bangladesh on 15th April 2021.
