Global Net Report  : BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s release has been extended for six months. The conditions for this release will remain the same as before. Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said this at noon on today.

The Home Minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina approved the request from Khaleda Zia’s family. Due to Corona, Khaleda Zia’s family has not been able to arrange any treatment for her for the last six months. In view of this, her release has been extended by six months.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a notification in this regard today.

Khaleda Zia will receive treatment from her home during the extended period of her release. She will not be able to leave the country at this time, the notification said.

The circular said, “In the light of the petition filed for the release of convicted prisoner Khaleda Zia and the legal opinion of the Law and Justice Department, her powers under Section 401 (1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure have been violated on two conditions (medical treatment from home and not going abroad).” (Khaleda Zia’s) sentence suspended for six months from September 25.
