Global Net Report : This time there will be no Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent examination due to coronavirus. These students will be assessed for HSC based on their JSC and SSC results. This assessment will be done next December.

Education Minister Dipu Moni said this at an online press conference on Wednesday.

The Education Minister said that it has been decided to evaluate the HSC examination of  2020 in a different way without taking it directly. This time HSC students have come up with two public exams. The results of HSC will be determined according to the average of their JSC and SSC results. An expert committee has been formed to evaluate those who have changed departments in HSC (someone from science to commerce or humanities) after passing SSC. This committee will fix the issue of students changing departments.

Asked what would happen to higher education admissions after passing HSC, the education minister said it would not be appropriate to say now how admissions to higher education would be. It will be decided after discussion how to get admission in the universities.

According to the Ministry of Education and the Dhaka Board of Secondary and Higher Education, discussions were underway on whether the exam could be taken next month. Meanwhile, the Education Minister said this.

The HSC exam was supposed to be held in early April. But the test was postponed due to corona just before the start of the test. The total number of candidates in the examination is more than 13 lakh.
