The Bangladesh Tourism Women Entrepreneurs Association (BTWEA) has been formed with the aim of resolving the problems of a large number of women entrepreneurs in the tourism sector of Bangladesh and establishing their rights. This organization will play an effective role in the development and growth of the tourism industry by involving women extensively and in solving all the existing problems of women entrepreneurs in tourism. The Bangladesh Tourism Women Entrepreneurs Association (BTWEA) believes that real growth and development of tourism is not possible without involving a large number of women in tourism. Because half of the total population of our country is women. Therefore, the real development of tourism will be possible only if women are widely involved in tourism. The Bangladesh Tourism Women Entrepreneurs Association (BTWEA) has taken a massive initiative to bring together all the women who are playing an important role in the development and growth of the tourism industry. Initiatives have been taken to form a nationwide committee of the organization. The National Executive Committee of this organization has been formed with the participation of women entrepreneurs who have been making a significant contribution to the tourism industry in our country. The inauguration of this committee will be held very soon.
After that, the work of forming committees in different departments and districts of the country will be completed in phases. Farhana Rahman, the chairman of Rang Basanti Resort and a prominent woman entrepreneur, has been nominated as the chairman of the Bangladesh Tourism Women Entrepreneurs Association (BTWEA) for the term 2021-2023. Lutfa Islam (Managing Director, Rangamati Waterfront Resort), Marjia Mehzabin (Managing Director, Lady Travelers Bangladesh), Barnali Hossain (Chairman, Barnachchata Resort), Hasina Anshar Nahar (Managing Director, Nahar Cooking World), and Afroza Nazneen Sumi (CEO Sumi’s Kitchen). have been elected Vice-Chairmen respectively.
Kazi Mohini Islam, Director and Chief Coordinator of Bangladesh Tourism Research Institute (BTRI) and President and CEO of Mohini Tourist Club, and Joint Editor of English magazine Weekly The Massage Bangladesh has been nominated. The other directors are, Dr. Sakia Haque (Chief Admin, Travels of Bangladesh), Rabia Akhter Hima (Managing Director, Privilege World Travelers Club), Sanyukta Rani Das (Director, Hotel Mom In-Bogra), Ayesha Siddique (Managing Director, Easy Diet Bangladesh Ltd.), AFL Nahar, (Managing Director, Aflatun Nahar’s Kitchen) and Nusrat Jahan Chowdhury (Managing Director, Sabrina Dream Resorts, Sabrina Travels & Tours). We hope that the Bangladesh Tourism Women Entrepreneurs Association (BTWEEA) will be able to solve all the existing problems of women entrepreneurs in tourism as well as play a significant role in the development and growth of the tourism industry in Bangladesh.
