
Global Net Report: Bangladesh Tourism Research Institute (BTRI) has given BTRI Culinary Excellence Award-2021 to the best 15 (fifteen) chefs in the country. The award was jointly organized by Bangladesh Tourism Research Institute and Nahar Cooking World at a function held at ‘Paryatan Bhaban’ in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka on Friday, May 28, 2021, at 3 pm.
Mr. KM Khalid MP, Minister of State for Culture, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh was present as the Chief Guest at the BTRI Culinary Excellence Award-2021 at the Festival of Traditional Cooking: Best 100 Recipe Book Publishing Festival. Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism Shamima Nasrin was present as a special guest. Shahidul Islam Sagor, Chairman, Bangladesh Tourism Explorers Association (BTEA), Daniel C. Gomez, Corporate Executive Chef of International Culinary Institute (ICI), and Cooking Assessor of Bangladesh Technical Education Board were present as distinguished guests.
Welcoming speeches were made by Kazi Rahim Shahriar, Founder President of Bangladesh Tourism Research Institute and Producer (Program) of My TV. Jahangir Alam, Director (Training) of International Culinary Institute (ICI), Kazi Mohini Islam and Afsia Alam Anika, Directors of Bangladesh Tourism Research Institute and Ln. Mithu Dhar Chowdhury, Editor of English weekly The Global Net took part in the discussion. Presided over by Hasina Anshar Nahar, Editor of Traditional Cooking: Top 100 Recipe Books, Cooking Assessor of Bangladesh Technical Education Board and Founder of Nahar Cooking World, Abu Raihan Sarkar, Executive Director, Bangladesh Tourism Research Institute and KM Kawsar Aziz, Co-ordinator (PR & Branding) were in overall charge.
It is to be noted that on the occasion of this year’s Amar Ekushey Book Fair-2021, the traditional cooking has been edited by Hasina Anshar Nahar, Chairman of Bangladesh Tourism Explorers Association (BTEA) National Women’s Standing Committee, Cooking Assessor of Bangladesh Technical Education Board. It has got the top 100 popular recipes of 100 popular chefs of Bangladesh from home and abroad. The above 100 popular chefs and eminent personalities associated with the tourism industry were present on the occasion. In the presence of all, the book was unwrapped and a cake cutting ceremony was celebrated.
