The five-day multi-purpose jute products fair and exhibition concluded with an award ceremony on December 17, 2024.
The closing and award ceremony of the multi-purpose jute products fair and exhibition was organized on Tuesday, December 17 at the Jute Diversification Promotion Center at Farmgate in the capital. Taslima Kaniz Nahida, Additional Secretary, Jute Division, Ministry of Textiles and Jute, was present as the chief guest and the event was presided over by JDPC Executive Director Zeenat Ara.
Chief guest Taslima Kaniz Nahida said, “Jute products are an important resource for our country. There is a huge demand for jute products in the global market. The ministry will provide all kinds of cooperation, especially official assistance in getting loans, for the development of entrepreneurs.”
As a new attraction in this year’s fair, a photography and essay competition on jute was organized jointly by JDPC and H&H Foundation. The competition was announced at a press conference on November 4, 2024. On December 12, 2024, Honorable Textile and Jute and Trade Advisor Sheikh Bashir Uddin unveiled the cover of the magazine “Sonali Ansher Alekhya 2024”. In continuation of that, the magazine’s publication was unveiled in front of everyone at the closing program. Three photos were selected from 207 photos and awards were distributed to the best three photographers and the writings of three of the selected essays were published in the magazine.
Among the awardees, Al- Amin Leon, Shamsul Haque Ripon, Aklima Akhter Shiuli and Lutfunnesa received awards in the photography competition. Mahzabin Jahan Jim, Anik Mahmud Shanto and Sanjida Afrin received awards in the essay competition.
The award ceremony was attended by H&H Foundation Founder M. Shafaq Hossain, IT Beats CEO Erica Afrin Bushra, and PSO Founder Mohammad Solaiman Ahmed Jishan, along with JDPC officials, volunteers, and entrepreneurs. The event was supported by Public Speaking Official, IT Beats, CSD Academy, Event Express, Johan Ocean, Probasi Palli, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, and Universal Medical College and Hospital.
