DHAKA, May 8, 2022 (BSS) – Advocate Shah Zikrul Ahmed, former MP of
Brahmanbaria-5 constituency, passed away yesterday morning.

Family sources said he died around 10:30 pm on Saturday at Bangabandhu
Medical College Hospital in Gopalganj at the age of 73.

He was taken to Bangabandhu Medical College Hospital as he became sick.
Later, he died while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

He left behind his wife, three daughters and a host of relatives, friends and
well-wishers to mourn his death.

His first namaz-e janaza was held this morning on Nabinagar Government High
School premises in Brahmanbaria.

He will be laid to eternal rest in the city’s Banani graveyard after janaza
at the Bangladesh Supreme Court premises, Dhaka Taxes Bar Association
premises and city’s Paltan Line Mosque, said a press release.

Ahmed, also a valiant freedom fighter served as the president of the
Bangladesh Tax Lawyers Association. He was also the vice-chairman of the
Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) central committee.

JSD President Hasanul Haque Inu and General Secretary Shirin Akhter expressed
deep shock and sorrow at his death.

They also prayed for eternal peace and salvation of the departed soul.
