
Global Net Report : This information was given in the press release sent by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) on Friday that Germany has donated two million Euros to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to help combat the Covid-19 in Bangladesh.
It said the assistance was provided to the United Nations by the German Foreign Ministry through the IOM. This money will be spent on the essential treatment of the Rohingya community and the distressed and marginalized people of Bangladesh. In addition, the IOM will work to increase the capacity to identify infected patients upon entry into the town of Cox’s Bazar.
German Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Farenholtz said, “We are delighted to be able to assist the IOM in dealing with corona in Bangladesh.” IOM Bangladesh Mission Chief Giorgi Gigaori said, “We are grateful to the German government for its humanitarian assistance.”
