Global Net Report : On the occation of the Begum Rokeya Shakhawat Hossain 140 birth and 88 death anniversary Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina distributed The Begum Rokeya Padak at Bangladesh Shishu Academy auditorium on Wednesday arranged by The Ministry of Children and Women Affairs. The prime minister joined the event virtually from her official residence Ganobhaban. On behalf of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nessa Indira physically handed over the awards, medals and cheques to the awardees.
In 2020, Brig Dr Nazma Begum in women’s emancipation, Prof Dr Shireen Akhter in education, Monjulika Chakma in socio-economic development, Begum Mushtari Shafi in literature and culture, and Farida Akter in women’s rights categories, have been selected for the prestigious award.
